(built and further developed after a historical model) nails on a wooden board, microtonally tunable, amplified by piezo pickups, played with bass bow, fingers, thin rosewood knitting needles, and metal chopsticks.
colophonic, concave bent wooden slat or round wood. Usable by stroking as col legno tratto - effect on flat stringed instruments (e.g. piano, harpsichord, harp, guitar) - own invention.
mallets made of rosewood knitting needles and several layers of shrink tubing (from soldering accessories) - own invention for playing the nail violin
More stable tuning further development of the nail violin with firmly screwed long screws instead of nails.
A variation of a contact loudspeaker, a wooden stick set in motion by electric motors; driven by amplified audio signals, the sound pen, clamped between two piano strings, generates desired frequencies, the strings themselves behave like filters - further development
a stringed instrument with 3 bass strings (tuning in major thirds C-E-G#). The resonator is a small sheet metal barrel, which in turn transmits the sound by means of a tension spring to each of two large barrels (contact point is a membrane made of Mylar), thus creating a reverb effect. Likewise, the tension springs can also be played with the cello bow. - Further development
a resistance sensor knitted from conductive yarn and attached to clothing.
